This is an example fee only and may be affected by many factors, e.g. if you are a 2nd-time buyer or property investor. Additional charges/disbursements may be payable in several instances, such as the type of property, Help to Buy or other types of arrangement.

The key stages in buying or selling your home

  1. Instruction – We will provide our standard welcome pack when you formally instruct us to act on your behalf. Please take the time to read and complete the required documentation to help avoid unnecessary delays.
  2. Contracts – We will issue the contract documents to the buyer’s conveyancer (if you are selling) or request them from the seller’s conveyancer (if you are buying).
  3. Searches – If you are buying, we will carry out searches on your new property.
  4. Report – Once we have all the required information, we will report to you and give appropriate advice.
  5. Mortgage – When your mortgage offer has been received, we will arrange for documents to be signed and agree on a completion (moving) date.
  6. Completion – We will keep in close contact with you on the completion day and let you know as soon as the keys are released.
  7. Accounting – We will account to you for any surplus money, usually by bank transfer.
